Professional Pool Company — How to Send Your Survey and Backyard Photos

To design an accurate pool layout and provide a reliable estimate, we need a copy of your property survey and a few backyard photos. These two items allow us to confirm setbacks, measure usable space, check elevation, and understand your yard’s layout.

This article explains exactly what to send and how to send it.

1. Why We Need Your Property Survey

Your survey shows:

  • Property lines
  • Dimensions
  • Setbacks
  • Easements
  • Drainage swales
  • Existing structures
  • Screen enclosure outlines
  • Driveways, patios, and utility areas

This information helps us determine:

✔ The maximum pool size that fits

✔ Proper placement and orientation

✔ Space for decking and walkways

✔ Equipment pad location

✔ Drainage planning

✔ County compliance before construction

A survey ensures your pool design is accurate and buildable.

2. Acceptable Survey Formats

You can send your survey in any of these formats:

  • PDF (preferred)
  • Photo / Screenshot of the survey
  • Scan from a closing packet
  • Digital file from your title company
  • HOA-issued survey copy

If you’re unsure whether a document qualifies as a survey, send it anyway — we’ll confirm.

3. How to Find Your Survey (If You Don’t Have It)

Most homeowners can find their survey:

  • In their closing documents
  • Through the builder
  • In HOA records
  • Through a title company
  • In online property appraiser portals (varies by county)

If you still can’t locate it, we can guide you on how to request a new one.

4. Why We Ask for Backyard Photos

Backyard photos help us understand:

  • Access paths for equipment
  • Existing patios or landscaping
  • Fence placement
  • Trees, slopes, or obstacles
  • Sunlight and shading
  • Real-life elevation differences

Photos give context that surveys alone cannot provide.

5. What Photos to Send (5–6 Is Ideal)

Please include:

1 photo facing straight out from the back door

Shows the main view and usable depth.

1 photo from each back corner (left & right)

Shows total width and layout.

1 photo of each side yard

Important for equipment placement and access.

1 photo of any specific area you want designed

Example: where you’d like the spa or sunshelf.

If your yard slopes, include a photo that shows the elevation change.

6. How to Send Us Surveys & Photos

You can send files through:

  • Email
  • Text message
  • Crisp chat attachment
  • Website upload form (if applicable)

We accept images, PDFs, and zipped files — whatever is easiest.

7. Your Information Is Always Confidential

We never share:

  • Your address
  • Survey
  • Photos
  • Personal details

Your files are used only to design your pool and confirm build requirements.

8. What Happens After We Receive Your Files

Once your survey and photos are received, our team:

  1. Confirms setbacks
  2. Reviews easements and usable space
  3. Studies your yard’s shape and sun exposure
  4. Evaluates access for excavation
  5. Designs your pool directly onto your survey
  6. Builds your custom 3D rendering

Within a short time, you’ll receive a complete design and estimate based on your exact property, not generic templates.
