Pool Automation App Setup Guide (Hayward)

Professional Pool Company — How to Set Up Your Hayward Omni App and Connect It to Your Pool System

Hayward’s automation systems—OmniLogic, OmniPL, OmniHub, and ProLogic (with upgrades)—allow you to control your pump, lights, heater, spa, water features, schedules, and more directly from your smartphone.

This guide walks you through installing the app, creating your account, pairing your system, and getting started.

1. Download the Hayward Omni App

The app is available for both iOS and Android.

  • Apple App Store: Search “Hayward Omni”
  • Google Play Store: Search “Hayward Omni”

Make sure you install the official Hayward Pool Products app.

2. Create Your Hayward Account

✔ Step-by-step:

  1. Open the app
  2. Tap “Sign Up”
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Create a secure password
  5. Accept Hayward’s terms
  6. Verify your email if prompted

This account links your phone to your automation panel.

3. Connect Your Automation System to Wi-Fi or Ethernet

Before pairing the app, your automation panel must be online.

✔ If using Wi-Fi:

  1. Go to the automation panel (OmniLogic/OmniPL screen)
  2. Open Configuration
  3. Select Network/Wi-Fi
  4. Choose your home network
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi password
  6. Confirm connection

✔ If using Ethernet:

  • Plug an Ethernet cable into your home router and into the automation panel.
  • The system will connect automatically.

Tip:

If your equipment pad is far from your router, a mesh Wi-Fi system or extender improves connection reliability.

4. Pair Your Panel With the App

✔ Steps:

  1. Open the Hayward Omni app
  2. Tap “Add a New System”
  3. Select OmniLogic, OmniPL, or OmniHub
  4. The app will search for your panel on the network
  5. When your system appears, tap Connect
  6. Enter the system’s Serial Number (found inside the panel or under System Info)

If you have a ProLogic upgraded with Hayward’s smart module, choose OmniHub during setup.

5. Name Your Pool & Features

The app will prompt you to label circuits such as:

  • Pool
  • Spa
  • Lights
  • Waterfall
  • Bubbler
  • Deck jets
  • Spillover
  • Cleaner
  • Heater
  • Blower

These names appear on your home screen in the app, making control easy.

6. Set Pump Speeds

You can customize how your pump runs.

✔ To adjust speeds:

  1. Go to Filter Pump
  2. Tap Speeds
  3. Add or modify speeds for:
    • Filtration
    • Heating
    • Spa mode
    • Waterfalls
    • Features

Correct RPM settings improve efficiency and flow.

7. Create Schedules

You can automate nearly everything.

✔ To create a schedule:

  1. Tap Schedules
  2. Select the function (e.g., Filter Pump, Lights, Spa, Spillover)
  3. Set:
    • Start time
    • End time
    • Days of the week
  1. Tap Save
  • Pump: 8–10 hours per day
  • Salt system: Same hours as pump
  • Lights: Evening schedule
  • Spillover: 1 hour/day to refresh spa water

8. Add Heater Controls

✔ To set temperatures:

  1. Tap Heater
  2. Choose Pool or Spa
  3. Adjust your target temperature
  4. Ensure your heater is set to Remote Mode on the physical panel

The app will activate the heater automatically when needed.

9. Customize Light Colors & Themes (if applicable)

If your pool has color-changing LEDs:

  1. Tap Lights
  2. Select Color Mode
  3. Choose from themes such as:
    • Deep Blue Sea
    • Voodoo Lounge
    • Afternoon Skies
    • Tranquility
    • Color Fade
    • Flash/Show modes

You can also set schedules for colors.

10. Using Spa Mode

If you have a spa:

  1. Tap Spa Mode
  2. The system will:
    • Rotate valves
    • Increase pump speed
    • Activate the heater
    • Enable spa jets

Switch OFF Spa Mode to return to normal pool operation.

11. Assign Favorite Buttons (Quick Actions)

Create one-touch shortcuts such as:

  • “Evening Lights”
  • “Waterfall On”
  • “Spa Ready”
  • “All Off”
  • “Cleaning Cycle”

This makes controlling the pool faster and more intuitive.

12. Troubleshooting Setup Issues

❗ System not found in app?

  • Make sure panel is connected to Wi-Fi
  • Reboot the panel
  • Ensure you’re on the same local network

❗ Valves not moving?

  • Check actuator toggle switches (must be centered)

❗ Heater won’t respond?

  • Heater must be in Remote mode

❗ Pump won’t activate?

  • Make sure system isn’t in Service Mode at the panel

Most setup issues come from network connection or incorrect feature assignments.

Once setup is complete, you can control:

✔ Filter pump
